All Shook Up at the Unity

Elvis musical All Shook Up runs this week at the Unity Theatre - the first show from city-based student theatre company Power3 Productions.Consisting of a cast and crew from universities and colleges from across the city, All Shook Up was first a Broadway hit inspired by and featuring the music of Elvis Presley. The audiences will be transported to 1950s Midwestern America where a young guitar playing, motorcycle riding, leather jacket clad stranger meets a small town girl and changes everything with music, romance and good old rock and roll - the story, from Joe DiPietro's book, is based on Twelfth Night.Producer and one of Power3 founders, Helen Crilly said: “Our main aim was to produce a fun, entertaining production for people to get involved in, whether it to be part of the cast, crew or audience. Being part of theatre and performance is such a privilege and although we may not be the most experienced team in the world, we certainly have put a lot of time and effort in this project. We hope others enjoy watching it as much as we have enjoyed preparing it.”The show will run for five nights from Tuesday (May 13) to Saturday (May 17). Tickets are available from the Unity Theatre box office or via their website.
