Everyman memories

It's one month today until the Everyman closes. And as part of creating a fitting finale, the theatre would like to hear your memories of the place to turn into a sound installation for visitors to experience on its final day - July 2. If you remember your first visit, ever tread the boards, or if you remember the first ever production in 1964, saw the stars of the future on stage or enjoyed any play over the years, from Ken Campbell's The Warp to the final and current production of Macbeth... if you have a story to tell about the Everyman the theatre wants to hear from you. They are are working with Slung Low, with whom they collaborated on last year’s Anthology of seven stories performed on and around Hope Street, to celebrate the theatre and create a series of installations around the building, some in places the public never usually get to see. Visitors will be able to experience the installation between 2pm and 6pm on July 2, as the theatre opens to the public for one last time to share each others’ experiences and explore the building before the redevelopment. There are a variety of ways you can contribute and record your memories for the project. There will be drop-in sessions every Friday from 3pm to 6pm until June 24, or you can leave your message on the Everyman’s facebook page, or email everymemory@everymanplayhouse.com with your written memory or sound file. The small print: By submitting your story, you are agreeing to its use on July 2 and in any subsequent promotional activities for the Everyman, now and in the future. Your submission may be used in its entirety or as a shorter quote/fragment and presented as a sound recording, written and displayed and/or used online on the theatres’ website, Facebook group and Twitter stream.
