Joe Egg actress up for award

Joe Egg actress up for award

Actress Jessica Bastick-Vines has been nominated for one of the UK's leading theatre awards for her role as Joe in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg at the Playhouse earlier this year. She's up for best supporting performance in the UK Theatre Awards. Bastick-Vines was hailed for her “extraordinary performance” in the Everyman and Playhouse’s and Rose Theatre Kingston production of Peter Nichols’ modern classic play, for her portrayal of the severely disabled daughter of a couple at the brink of destruction (played by Rebecca Johnson and Ralf Little). She's up against Siân Phillips for This is My Family at Sheffield Theatres, and Sally Reid for Time and the Conways at Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh and Dundee Rep. Theatre Awards UK is (apparently) the only nationwide awards scheme to honour creative excellence and the outstanding achievement seen on and off stage throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. So why we're not up for this kind of thing all the time, who knows. The awards will be announced on Sunday October 20. Here's a quick reminder of how awesome A Day in the Death of Joe Egg was with the MADEUP review.
