For one night only this week, professional opera company Flat Pack Music are bringing Mozart's comic opera Cosi Fan Tutte to Hope Street venue The Casa. The company promises "two hours of beautiful operatic singing - in English with live piano accompaniment, laughter, comedy and a great storytelling worthy of Shakespeare - and all for only a tenner!"The story starts with an old old cynic and philosopher, Don Alfonso, who bets two young men, Ferrando and Gugliemo, that their fiancées would not stay faithful if put to the test. The young men accept the bet, and so the test begins…Based in the North West of England, Flat Pack Music was founded in 2017 by graduates from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music, and the Royal Academy of Music. The company aims to present opera and classical music in a relaxed way that people can readily enjoy; for newcomers to fall in love with the music, drama and excitement of opera, and for old hands to enjoy a new take on old favourites.Catch Cosi Fan Tutte at The Casa this Thursday (April 19) at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from their website.
