Award winning Liverpool theatre company Spike will be holding a special one-off variety fundraiser at The Kazimier to raise what should be the last of the money needed to take their show The Games to the Edinburgh Festival this summer. Variety Pack is being held on Thursday May 26, and will include a host of local performers who have worked with Spike over the last 10 years. To be held at the Kazimier on Wolstenholme Square, the line-up of talent will include host Rinty Boo (aka actor and comedian Paul Duckworth), double-act Random Acts of Wildness, comedy and music from Jollyboat and Liverpool performers including Francois the Gypsy, musician Matthew Wood and comedy actors Liam Tobin, Jamie Greer, Keddy Sutton, Lauren Silver, Lee McPherson, Lewis Bray and Colin Eccleston. Spike are continuing to raise funds to enable them to showcase their Olympic Games inspired comedy show The Games at one of the worlds most famous arts festivals. Their website campaign on We Fund exceeded their £2750 target, and they have run other fundraising nights and activities since debuting The Games at the Unity Theatre last year (read the Made Up review here). Artistic director Mark Smith said: "We have been really touched by the generosity of the people who’ve donated through We Fund, which means we will definitely be going to Edinburgh. Our friends and colleagues are now helping us out by donating their talent to make our Variety Pack a brilliant night out for those who’d like to continue to support us and our show. All the money raised on the night will go directly into the marketing and publicity to make sure The Games is seen across the UK and the world."

The show starts at 8pm and tickets, costing £10, are available on the door.
