A debut play from a new female-led Liverpool theatre company is promising to "command your senses and leave you on your knees begging for more". Ooer...

Succour Punch Theatre's provocative and satirical new play Stripped is a journey to an illicit world, "serving a political message with a punch".

"Many people believe political and social issues are not their concern," they say. "Succour Punch aims to change this and to empower society to care more about humanity than vanity."

The company was formed earlier this year by Sarah Sharp, Jazz Jago, Faye Draper and Ciara O’Neill. They found common ground in a passion for confronting challenging topics, and a desire to create work with the purpose of driving social change.

Sarah says: "The core creative team of Succour Punch is made up of women and we hope this educates those who believe that the feminist agenda is a ‘man-hating movement’. We aim for Stripped to truly show that this is a cause which all members of society are welcomed, if not urged, to be involved in.”

Jazz adds: "It was important for our team to fully represent the diverse issues of sexual and gender injustice. That’s why Stripped tackles issues such as men’s mental health, FGM, Transgender rights, ‘queer erasure’ and much more. We stand for equality.”

Catch Stripped at Edge Hill uni's Arts Centre in Ormskirk on November 21, and at Liverpool's EBGBs on Seel Street on November 24.
