Community theatre group What We Did Next are wasting no time in 2013, and this week will be getting stuck into their latest production, Bat Boy.The show, described as "a classic love story with a serious bite" is inspired by a character made up by the American tabloid the Weekly World News, supposed to have been - you guessed it - half bat, half boy. They are holding open auditions for all roles this Saturday (January 12) at the Clove Hitch on Hope Street, between 10am and 6pm.They say: "We're not scary people and we've all auditioned before so don't be worried! The auditions will be fairly informal and we'd love to see as many people as possible."Anyone interested in auditioning is asked to prepare a song from the show if possible (sheet music and piano accompaniment will be available), and be prepared to try out some dialogue on the day.  Decent American accents will also be required. For more information on the roles available and a full audition pack, visit the What We Did Next website or contact batboy@wwdn.co.uk.
