An Unquiet Mind at the Actors Studio
An Unquiet Mind is a new play by Hull-based writer David Pattison, making its Liverpool debut at the Actors Studio Theatre this week. Described as "brutal and realistic", the two-hander tells the story of Topshop, a military veteran living on the streets and named after the label in the clothes he has found himself wearing, and what happens when he meets the mysterious Legion. Merseyside actors Paul Codman (who also directs) and Michael Chapman take on the roles. “All lives are about crossroads,” says Pattison, “you turn right, fortune and happiness, you turn left, death and destruction. Legion is, the person Topshop might have become had he taken a different path through life. It can also be questioned, however, which of the characters is in the better place." A stark and hard-hitting examination of the lives of the homeless, An Unquiet Mind is on a short tour and stops at the Actors Studio on June 7. For more information, visit the website.
