At the Playhouse: The Misanthrope

The Misanthrope, Liverpool's latest McGoughiere - that is, the work of the 17th century French playwright Moliere rephrased in the comic verse of our very own Roger McGough - is now on stage and open for business at the Playhouse.Following on from Tartuffe in 2008 and The Hypochondriac in 2009, it is the third and final installment in what has been an attention-grabbing and hugely entertaining pairing over the last few years. It plays at the theatre until March 9. This time I reviewed over at Seven Streets, and you can catch up on it here.
