Bon Voyage at the Epstein
The company behind successful city comedy As the Shoe Fits returns next week with a show that claims to, ahem, "put the fun back into funeral". What, it went away? Bon Voyage is set at a final farewell party to a much loved husband, father and friend, Rocky. Hosted by Rocky’s lovely wife Maggie and charming daughter Lisa, the chaos ensues when party guests including his best friends Bumper, Dazzler and Plonk, start to get out of control. Rocky would be having the time of his life if it weren’t for the small fact he's dead. Written by Richie Grice and Paul Nicholson and also directed by Grice, the show stars those famously demure theatrical wallflowers Lindzi Germain and Mickey Finn. What am I talking about? A raucous comedy about a Scouse funeral surely couldn't be in safer hands. Between them, they have appeared in other Liverpool productions including Little Scouse on the Prairie, Nightmare on Lime Street, Scouse Pacific, Night Collar and Down Our Street. The cast is completed by Chris Crookall, Tony James, Michael Swift and Richie Grice. Bon Voyage is on at the Epstein from September 10 to 14.
