Burjesta Theatre's Reign of Vampires

Casa-based Burjesta Theatre present their eighth production this week, the spooky-sounding Reign of Vampires. They say: "In the 19th century Karl Marx used the vampire as a metaphor for the capitalist class he saw around him. We’ve taken his idea and applied it to the 21st century, thrown in a bit of Blade, a sprinkling of Jason Bourne and a great soundtrack of music to get your feet tapping and your hips swaying. We’ve been rehearsing hard to get this one right expect to be disturbed, expect to be shocked, expect to find yourself laughing despite yourself."Warning of scenes of a violent and sexual nature, it's one for adults only and features a soundtrack of U2, The Cramps, The Stranglers, Frank Sinatra, Bjork, and The Fall.Reign of Vampires runs at the Casa, on Hope Street, from May 10 to 17.
