Christmas Top and Tale

Christmas Top and Tale

Mulled wine and an intergalactic yuletide ceilidh? Why the devil not. Following its debut at the start of this year, the theatrical storytelling event Top and Tale is back in a one-off Christmas special at Metal @ Edge Hill Station. Hosted by Liverpool theatre collective The Suitcase Ensemble, Top and Tale brings together live performance, conversation and creative activity in a warm and welcoming daytime event that is free and open to all. Those attending will be invited to imagine fantastical winter worlds as they make their own decorations and unique gifts, compose new songs, share traditions, and join in with what The Suitcase Ensemble is calling "the unmissable Intergalactic Yuletide Ceilidh". Anyone is welcome to turn up and engage in the activities, or simply to enjoy a friendly festive chat while the tea, coffee and mulled wine flows. Andy Gledhill of The Suitcase Ensemble said: “This is the first Christmas Top and Tale we’ve done and we’re really embracing the magic of the season. There is absolutely no experience necessary, and all materials will be provided. But feel free to bring a Christmas related story, song, photo, memory, musical instrument or dream." Through all this creative sharing, The Suitcase Ensemble hope to gather inspiration for their newest show, which they are calling Yuletide Paradise. Immediately following the Top and Tale event, the company will spend a week developing new ideas, which they will share in a work-in-progress performance in the same venue on Saturday December 14 at 6pm. Both events are free. You can just turn up to the Top and Tale event, but pre-booking is essential for the Yuletide Paradise work-in-progress. For more information visit suitcase-ensemble.com or call 0151 7072277.
