Confessions of a Touring Nun brings cabaret to Hope Street
FOLLOWING last year's debut Christmas production of Beauty and the Beast, Drops of Light CIC are back this June with a brand new show in Liverpool’s newest venue, The Hope Street Theatre.Confessions of a Touring Nun is the first in a series of cabarets from the company and sees creative director James Lacey return to the stage with a number of special guests.A musical theatre performer at heart, James has appeared in touring musicals including High School Musical 2, Shrek and The Sound of Music, as well as Disney’s live adaptation film Cinderella.Confessions of a Touring Nun invites audiences through the keyhole of a theatre dressing room, for an insight to the behind-the-scenes life of a touring musical theatre actor. Hosting the evening, Lacey recalls comical stories and anecdotes from life on the road.Set across two dates, the tea time shows will welcome a series of special guests with some familiar faces from the companies 2017 pantomime starting with Adam McCoy (Beauty & the Beast) and Emma Bispham (Everyman Rep Company) on Sunday, June 10. On Sunday June 17, the special guests will be Tori Hargreaves (Blood Brothers) and Helen Carter (Mam I’m ‘Ere). Both shows start at 5pm.Drops of Light CIC are a community-based theatre production company with a focus on creating opportunities in theatre for aspiring practitioners.
