The city's carnival season is well underway, and as part of Brouhaha’s 2011 programme, the Unity will be hosting showcase performance Diversity In Dance on Tuesday (July 19). This year acts include companies from The Netherlands, Norway and Spain who have all devised new pieces for Brouhaha’s theme this year which is The Melting Pot - the myths and realities of the European integration. Acts include the Norway-based Caribbean Peoples Dance Ensemble, apparently the largest dance crew in Northern Europe. They mix contemporary and traditional African, Caribbean with African American dance. Founded in 2008 and choreographed by Thomas Talawa Prestø, the company have been celebrating dance and culture of Africa and theCaribbean by drawing from the technique of traditional dances and adding a modern twist.

Tabanka Crew also utilizes the language of African and Caribbean dance form, approached from a contemporary perspective to create an original "dance language" known as the Talawa-Technique, taught on five continents.  Finally, Got Skills are based in Rotterdam and  combine contemporary ballet and urban dance styles. The agency consists of 35 dancers, 15 rappers / singers, 3 music producers, 4 DJs and 5 choreographers. In this performance, they fuse different dance styles into one show with each dance style representing a European capital city.
