The bi-annual TiLT Dance Platform returns for its first showcase of 2012 this week.On Wednesday and Thursday (April 4 and 5), the Kazimier will play host to two exciting evenings of dance performance from the best up-and-coming dance companies from across the region.TiLT Dance Platform is described as an "alternative dance experience", with previous programmes boasting an eclectic mix of film, art, live music and dance.TiLT director Hollie Coleman said: "We are so proud of how much Tilt Dance Platform has progressed since its launch in  2009, hosting a range of multi-disciplinary artists from around the UK. 2012 has seen us gain support and recognition from  the Arts Council England and we look forward to a bright future and a great event focusing on new and emerging talent."Thanks to that ACE funding, the event will include a newly-commissioned collaborative dance piece fashioned by North West dancers and musicians.Their pioneering approach aims to "undoubtedly experiment and push the boundaries of choreography to its limit", which they say demonstrates the main aim of TiLT -- to pursue and establish future alliances and collaboration between different art forms within the city of Liverpool. There will be performances from dance companies including The Oblique Strategists, JMUpstart Dance, Jo Ashbridge & Co,Sophie Edwards and Rebecca Ankers, Joe Lott Dance, Saad, dt.Ellipsis and Tilt. Performances will explore themes including mental illness, regeneration and degeneration, heroes, struggles with faith, and comedy partnerships. Tickets are £5/£4 Conc (£8/£7 conc booking both nights) from Tilt, the Kazimier, or in person at Mello Mello on Castle Street.
