The Victorian in the Wall
If you’re after a laugh this weekend you’ll be absolutely spoiled for choice...On Friday and Saturday (April 5 and 6), Perrier-award winning performer, writer, comedian, and star of Channel 4's Campus and The Boat That Rocked, Will Adamsdale brings his new show to Unity Theatre. We last saw him on stage here in The Summer House in 2011, and new show The Victorian in the Wall (pictured) is described as a surreal and fantastical story about a workshy writer who discovers a Victorian man living in the wall of his flat. Everyone's pretty surprised. Adjustments need to be made. Can the strange visitor unlock our protagonist’s hopeless career and flagging relationship? Ooh, what do we think? Tickets and more info here. There’s also bleddy loads of great stand up in town. Our man Silky along with John Warburton and Chris Cairns, is on stage over at Laughterhouse on Friday and Saturday night.Twitter must-follow and one of the world’s 'hottest transgender comedians' Bethany Black is the compere at Four Candles, the comedy night for the more discerning audience member, at House on Bold Street on Saturday night. The bill is completed with Alfie Moore and Matt Green and the show starts at 9. Of course, if that’s not enough there’s the Improvathon at the Kazimier for 33 hours over Saturday and Sunday. And finally, to round it all off, the Lantern Theatre’s comedy night A Rush of Laughter will see Daliso Chaponda return to the city along with hometown boy Adam Rowe and Red Redmond.Which one will you choose?
