In Doggerland

The acclaimed latest production from Box of Tricks theatre In Doggerland tells the funny and heartfelt story of four people struggling to move forward under the weight of past trauma. The play explores the themes of organ donation and transplantation, loss and grief, family and home, and what makes up the essence of an individual. Tom Morton-Smith is an award-winning playwright and former writer-in-residence at new writing company Paines Plough. He is currently under commission with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His previous plays include Everyday Maps for Everyday Use (Finborough Theatre / PapaTango New Writing Festival 2012) and Salt Meets Wound (Theatre503). The cast will feature award-winning actress Natalie Grady in the role of Kelly. Last year Natalie won best supporting actress at the Manchester Theatre Awards for her role as Minnie Gascoigne in The Daughter in Law for The Library Theatre. Her other credits include the Olivier award-winning National Theatre production of Rafta Rafta, directed by Nicolas Hytner, Samuel West’s production of As You Like It at the Sheffield Crucible and most recently, Mother Courage and her Children for the Library Theatre at the Lowry. Natalie Grady will be joined by Clive Moore (whose television roles including Joey Callaghan in the hit series Liverpool 1 and Father O’Farrell in Channel 4’s Brookside) as Simon, recent RADA graduate Benjamin Blyth as Linus and Jennifer Tan as Marnie. Catch In Doggerland at the Lantern Theatre, Liverpool on November 22 and 23.
