John Godber's The Debt Collectors
The Liverpool Actors Studio Theatre's next production from its in-house company, English Rice, will be John Godber's The Debt Collectors, running from March 18 to 29. Join Spud and Loz, two out of work actors who fall into the world of debt recovery. It’s a role they despise but a job they were made for, and since they are desperate for cash it's a part they have to play. But all is not what it seems in this contemporary comedy about credit, castings and cashing in. They were once in The Bill - now they’re on your doorstep... This new comedy, from one of the nation’s favourite playwrights, author of hits such as Bouncers, Up 'n' Under and LAST's 2013 production Teechers, stars Michael Swift (Spirit of the Stone, Everyman) as Loz and John Doull (Bouncers - The Remix, Theatre Royal St Helens) as Spud. Barrie Ryan English, LAST's artistic director said: "It's always great to work on a John Godber play and I'm really looking forward to working with the two actors and bringing his unique writing style to life. This is one of his newer plays and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to Liverpool." The Debt Collectors will be performed at the Liverpool Actors Studio Theatre, 36 Seel Street from March 18 to 29, with performances at 7.30pm and matinees at 2pm on Saturdays. Tickets are £10 (£8 concs). For more information or to buy tickets, please visit theliverpoolactorsstudio.com or call the theatre on 0151 709 9034.
