Laughterhouse New Year's Eve parties

No sooner had Laughterhouse Comedy found a warm and cosy home at the CUC, than they have been forced to give it up ahead of the venue’s closure at the start of next year. But are they letting it get them down? Not a bit, and they’re busy planning a New Year’s Eve extravaganza to see 2011 and the CUC off in style. On Saturday December 31, hitting the stage for the historical final event at the venue will be musical act The Band With No Name, swing singer and entertainer James Franklyn, magician Michael Diamond, comedian and juggler Steve Royle, and the ever-charming compere Chris Cairns (pictured). Alternatively, Laughterhouse will also be hosting shenanigans at sister venue the Slaughter House on Fenwick Street from 8pm for an alternative New Years Eve Party with four comedy acts, free shots and a covers band to entertain ‘til late. There, the line-up for the evening includes Phil Nichol, Daliso Chaponda, the multi-talented Steve Royle (again), and Ste Porter. There’s a variety of packages depending on whether you’re eating or just there for the show (and complimentary shots), so for all your options, pay a visit to the Laughterhouse website. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqhiRHNuCaM?wmode=transparent]
