One Man, Two Guvnors, the Empire
The National Theatre's award-winning comedy One Man, Two Guvnors will finally be making it to Liverpool, it was announced today. The show embarks on an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland from May next year and will visit the Empire from September 1 to 6, 2014.The cast has yet to be announced, but the central role of Francis Henshall has been made famous by both James Corden and Rufus Hound over the years.Now seen by over one million people worldwide, One Man, Two Guvnors is described as "a glorious celebration of British comedy" and "a unique laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, slapstick and glittering one-liners". The West End production was hailed as a ‘comic classic’ by The Guardian, and ‘inspired and deliriously funny’ by The Daily Telegraph.Mistaken identity, food, money and romance are high on the agenda in Richard Bean’s English version of Carlo Goldini’s Italian comedy, The Servant of Two Masters. The show features songs by Grant Olding, performed live on stage by The Craze.
