Lights Up Entertainment will be holding open auditions for their Valentine’s Day production of I Love You Because, a musical set in modern day New York City inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice. The story centers around a young, uptight greeting card writer’s life, and how it is changes when he meets a flighty photographer.  Along with their eccentric friends and siblings, they learn to love each other not in spite of their faults, but because of them. The show will be performed at the Unity Theatre from February 12 to 15 2013. Tickets will go on sale later this month. Written by Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham, the show was the pair’s thesis musical while studying at New York University’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. It went on to open off-Broadway in 2006 to wide critical acclaim and has since been produced all over the world. Lights Up Entertainment is a Liverpool-based entertainment company focusing on theatre production and artist management.
