Raunchy comedy The Plumbing comes to Liverpool Fringe

THE Plumbing, a new production from Bespectacled Theatre opening at The Casa this week, is described as "a raunchy new comedy about sex and growing up".Vera knows too much about sex. Will doesn’t know enough. Two lifelong friends share their weird, wonderful and downright ridiculous sexual experiences over a cuppa or two.Bespectacled say: "Through the play’s ridiculous, comical and touching stories, The Plumbing fundamentally comments on how a lack of proper sex education does not account for dealing with relationships, consent or the emotional complications of sex - this being the case for most UK teenagers and young adults."Fresh from their success of taking part in Hope St Ltd’s On The Verge festival last October, Bespectacled Theatre Company are back as part of The Liverpool Fringe Festival.Writer Franki Le-Voguer, who also stars as Vera, says "viewers can expect a strong sex-positive, feminist vibe". Gerard McLaughlin (Queertet, Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell) takes the role of shy, awkward Will, with the cast completed by Libbie Saunders and Jake Szuplewski."The Plumbingis guaranteed to be a good giggle," says Franki. "We're sure you'll have your own stories to tell us over a pint afterwards!"The show runs from June 14 to 17, and tickets are available from The Casa's website.
