Liverpool Unearthed -horror-theatre with midnight performance
Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell is new horror-theatre experience, set in an old Victorian police station.Part of Hope Street Ltd’s On The Verge festival, there are performances in the unusual venue of the Bridewell Studios on Prescott Street (just up from the Royal Hospital) from October 19th to 22 - including a midnight performance.Bespectacled Theatre Company say their latest production is "a once-in-a-lifetime ghostly experience which will haunt you for all the right reasons."Intriguingly, they say: "We aren’t just telling ghost stories, but inviting you to try and live through one."The Bridewell, a former police station, has been as a home for the artists who create and exhibit their work in the building for more than 20 years. Bespectacled aim to instead show you a parallel world where the artists have been driven out by greedy developers, in a generation where student flats seem to taking over. The audience will find themselves invited to the building’s open house on the evening of its intended sale, to walk its forgotten corridors and spooky corners. The company say: "As night falls and you wander deeper into The Bridewell, the night begins to take a terrifying turn. It becomes apparent that the Bridewell is coming back to life, or more appropriately, back from the dead…"Devised by the cast and written and directed by Franki Le-Voguer, Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell will be the first in a series exploring the forgotten corners of Liverpool, combining history with mystery in a chilling performance. It is recommended for ages 16+, and accessibility is limited. "Please wear sensible footwear, just in case you need to run," the warning says...Tickets for Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell can be booked via TicketQuarter, either by calling 0844 8000 410 or online.
