Pour and Serve by Caitlin Gleeson is a new solo performance - in a bar - that uses real stories to examine the language of sexual harassment and how it forms part of a sinister culture of violence against women.A drink with a bartender who flips the script on gender, power and ‘harmless’ banter, the show is part of Hope Street Ltd's On the Verge festival, which starts this week. Writer and performer Caitlin Gleeson uses her own experiences of harassment at work to show that ‘harmless’ banter can have devastating effects.  She says: "Nearly half a million sexual assaults take place in the UK each year and over half of women experience sexual harassment in the workplace. By using personal stories to explore a widespread issue that still largely remains taboo, Pour and Serve seeks to begin an urgently needed conversation. "Pour and Serve uses humorous, disturbing and real stories to show with unsettling clarity how language is intrinsic to violence against women."Catch it at Liverpool Masonic Hall on Hope Street, from October 19 to 21 with performances at 2pm, 4pm and 5.30pm, as part of a double bill with Under My SkirtTickets for the double bill are £5 and can be booked via TicketQuarter by calling 0844 8000 410 or online. On the Verge is a unique festival of daring performances in unusual spaces - theatre by the next generation of artists that challenges and re-imagines the theatrical experience.
