96/27 is a true account of a survivor’s experience of Hillsborough. The play, that will be performed in a cramped changing room as part of Hope Street Ltd's On the Verge festival this week, aims to communicate how the aftermath of a traumatic experience can cause mental health issues and asks the question 'can storytelling start the healing process for people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? ’Writer and performer Rachael Mutch says: "The words are real. The sounds you hear are those from the terraces of the Kop. The words will immerse the audience in this traumatic and historic event."In creating 96/27, Mutch has incorporated real life documented words from a Hillsborough survivor - a family member, who has only recently spoken out about her ordeal after all this time - and integrated YouTube videos to tell the story of one person’s experience. The 30-minute performance takes place at Sport Liverpool, the University of Liverpool's sport and fitness centre on Bedford Street North, at 4.30pm, 6pm and 7.30pm on Friday (October 20); and at 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday (October 21).Tickets are £5 from TicketQuarter on 0844 800 0410.
