The final curtain has yet to fall on their current festive show, but that hasn't stopped the Royal Court getting excited about what's to come next Christmas. They've announced their ongoing festive partnership with writer Fred Lawless to bring an all-new comedy horror to the stage next December: A Nightmare on Lime Street. Lawless's Christmas shows, including Merry Ding Dong, Scouse Pacific and this year's Little Scouse on the Prairie, have proved so popular the runs have had to be extended each time. Now, the venue says because December tickets sell out almost as soon as they are made available, they are taking the unprecedented step of putting this show on sale a full 12 months in advance. Kevin Fearon, chief executive of Royal Court Liverpool said: “The Royal Court Christmas show is becoming a bit of an institution and after the success of the last two years we wanted to get the 2012 show ready as soon as we could. I had a chat with Fred and we thought that comedy horror would work well and now I can’t wait to see a script.”

Fred Lawless said: “I'm really honoured and excited to have been asked.  I've really enjoyed writing the last three Christmas shows, and this year's comedy horror show will I'm sure be great fun to write, great fun for the actors to perform, and most importantly great fun for our audiences to see.

A Nightmare On Lime Street will run from November 23 to January 12, 2013 and tickets are available from £13. Tickets and information for all productions are available from www.royalcourtliverpool.com or on 0870 787 1866.
