Spam burgers and dame games

It's that end-of-term feeling at the city's theatres it would seem, and they're not afraid to pull a few attention-seeking stunts to help the time until the bell rings go faster. Here's two that deserve a round of applause: The Playhouse is amusing itself by creating a new game. The Dame Game! They say: "In keeping with the rock ‘n’ roll panto you can now ‘Dame Yourself’ and share the results with your friends. The results are sometimes surprisingly good, sometimes surprisingly shocking, but always amusing!" Upload a photo and see for yourself here.

Meanwhile, the Empire has taken to plugging the forthcoming return of Monty Python musical Spamalot with an offer you could possibly refuse, the Spamalot burger, which will be served at What's Cooking at the Albert Dock up to and during the show's run. They say: "Guy Lawrenson, who runs What’s Cooking, was more than qualified to create the tasty Spam treat, as his father Max is credited as becoming the first UK manufacturer of Spam back in the 1960s." And here's a shameless plug: Visitors to What’s Cooking who order a Spamalot burger will also receive either another, or a hickory smoked beef burger absolutely free.

King Arthur (pictured) said: “The ye olde What’s Cooking Spamalot Burger is the tastiest thing that’s ever been served at my round table.” [you're fired - ed]
