Spike Theatre's Christmas Carol

Our friends at Spike Theatre will be giving their trademark puppetry and dark fairy tale stylings the festive treatment this year with a production of Dickens's A Christmas Carol, talking place at the Lantern Theatre from December 1 to 10. The world of Victorian London will be brought vividly to life in their atmospheric retelling, featuring a fusion of original music, puppetry, shadow play and bold storytelling, and we're told to expect laughs and plenty of scares.... “Times is ‘ard…Spare a copper for the poor?” Scrooge, London’s most notorious miser is having none of it. On the eve before Christmas, everything changes when he receives a visit from the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley.  Marley warns Scrooge that he should expect three visitations from the Christmas Spirits. As Scrooge’s past, present and future comes to haunt him, will he change or merely cry humbug? It should be a real Christmas theatre highlight. Tickets are £10 for adults/ £8 concessions, available from the Lantern's website.
