Waiting for Godot at the Lantern

Samuel Beckett’s classic Waiting for Godot is 60 this year. The absurdist play, once voted the most significant of the 20th century, is being revived by a brand new theatre company at the Lantern on October 3 and 4."The themes of Waiting for Godot are as relevant today as they were then, or perhaps even more so," say Big Teeth, who promise a unique interpretation of the iconic tragicomedy. "It is a classic text that we read, study and discuss so often but rarely see."Founded by 2013 Liverpool Hope graduates Sean Kirkpatrick and Joel Whitall, Big Teeth’s actors, directors and producers are all graduate and emerging performers living in the city. Whitall is a member of the the Everyman and Playhouse’s Young Writers programme for 2012/13, and the the company hopes to go on to produce and promote new writing in future.Tickets for Godot can be purchased on the Lantern Theatre’s website or on the door, priced £10 and £6 concession.
