This firey lady is samba dancer Simone Reeve, who led the charge of a fashion show with a difference last night at the launch of the Brazilica festival at Alma de Cuba. An array of fabulous costumes that will be seen as part of the nighttime festival parade were on show (as well as plenty of flesh). Designs including Gustav Klimt inspired capes, bird heads headdresses and colourful takes on traditional South American patterns by local designers including Claudia Pink and festival director Maeve Morris impressed the guests and gave a taste of what to expect next month. Brazilica, the three-day free festival inspired by all things Brazil, takes place across Liverpool city centre from July 13 to 15, and has a programme choc full of dance, food, football and music. For more information, check out the Brazilica website.
