Correction on February 10, 2011: Previous mention of Andrew Schofield being in the cast of this show was incorrect and the story has been amended.

A cast of actors usually seen on the stage of the Royal Court will be heading over to the Everyman for its final production before its closure and refurbishment. Alan Stocks and Stephen Fletcher (pictured), most recently seen altogether in Scouse Pacific, will be among the cast of Dead Heavy Fantastic. It already looked like being a quiet spring season at the Royal Court, and losing most of its regulars for a stint goes some way to explaining why. The new play, by Robert Farquhar, is described as a "raucous comedy set across one wild night out in Liverpool". As he waits for his blind date, lonely heart Frank has no idea of the mad, bad and deadly dangerous rollercoaster ride he’s about to get on. The woman Frank most desires keeps eluding him, and what’s more his night out is keeps getting weirder, as he sways from jealous ex-boyfriends to emergency wards via Concert Square and a song or two. Directed by Matt Wilde, it runs at the Everyman from March 11 to April 2. Other familiar faces in the cast will include Michelle Butterly, Helen Carter (Once Upon A Time at the Adelphi, No Wise Men) and Jess Schofield. Dead Heavy Fantastic was first performed in a rehearsed reading at the Everyword festival in May 2010 to much acclaim, and this full production continues the Everyman's commitment to supporting new Liverpool writing. Robert Farquhar's A Word Does Not Exist was part of the theatre's Anthology season last year. His play Bad Jazz won critical acclaim when it premiered in 2006, and he also directs the shows of Liverpool ’s Big Wow comic theatre company.  Picture by Dave Evans
