February Martini Lounge

Here we are readers, a little bit of Valentine's Day glam. Liverpool's grandest burlesque night, the Martini Lounge, returns with its first show of 2011 on Friday, February 25, so I thought I'd end my run of disturbing site visuals and give it a plug. Hostess with the mostess Millie Dollar will be joined by contemporaries Anna Fur Laxis and Mysti Vine (who bills herself "the world's only black variety and striptease comedienne...probably"), cabaret singer Coco Malone, magician Paul Dabek and regular MC Fred Bear.

 The blurb says Martini Lounge, which takes place in the small concert room of St George's Hall, treasures the satire and performance art that evolved since its 19^th Century origins and has created a classy and delightfully ludicrous night of entertainment in the most pertinent venue to reflect this tradition. Classy and delightfully ludicrous! We love it.
