Gallery: The Swallowing Dark
Here's a gallery of pretty atmospheric looking pictures from The Swallowing Dark, the new production from playwright Lizzie Nunnery. It's the first show on the stage of the newly reopened Studio space at the Playhouse, and so, like Anchorman Ron Burgundy himself would put it, is kind of a big deal -- a hot ticket that early reports show makes for an intense and emotional experience. The renaissance of the Playhouse Studio is a special birthday present to the theatre as it approaches the centenary of the Liverpool Repertory Company on 11 November 2011. The conversion and programming of the new Studio, seating just 65, have been supported by Arts Council England and the Friends of the Liverpool Playhouse. In November, it will play host to new writing festival Everyword. Pictured are cast members Allyson Ava-Brown and Wil Johnson. Pictures are by Christian Smith. For more information, see the Everyman & Playhouse website -- although The Swallowing Dark is already totally sold out.
