Ghost the Musical: 2014 Liverpool dates
It may have had its day on Broadway and in the West End, but Ghost the Musical lives on and the show's first UK tour will hit the Empire in February next year. Tickets go on general sale from Wednesday (June 19). Described a timeless fantasy about the power of love, Ghost - in case you didn't know - tells the story of Sam, trapped as a ghost between this world and the next, trying to communicate with girlfriend Molly through a phoney psychic in the hope of saving her from his murderer. Ghost the Musical was lauded for its impressive state-of-the-art staging, has been seen by over 500,000 people to date, and was nominated for five Olivier Awards and three Tonys. Music and lyrics come courtesy of former Eurythmics man Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard (and yes, signature tune Unchained Melody is in there too). Writer Bruce Joel Rubin adapted his original Oscar winning screenplay for the stage production. The tour stars Stewart Clarke as Sam Wheat, Rebecca Trehearn as Molly Jensen and the coincidentally-named Wendy Mae Brown as psychic Oda Mae Brown. The show comes to the Empire from February 11 to 22 next year. For more about the production, visit ghostthemusical.com, and here's a trailer from the West End run:
