Jersey Boys Liverpool dates
Further dates have been announced for the UK tour of the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning musical Jersey Boys, which will now land at the Empire on June 23 next year. The show, about the rise to fame of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, has never been more in the spotlight, with Clint Eastwood's movie version released this week to boot. Tim Driesen (pictured) will star on stage as Valli; he's currently playing the role in the Dutch production of Jersey Boys, and previously played Frankie Valli for a short season at the Prince Edward Theatre in the West End. He's also been Joey Primo in Rock of Ages in the West End and created the role of Adrian Banks (the character based on Mark Owen) in Never Forget, on tour and in the West End. The producers say Jersey Boys has been seen by over 19 million people worldwide, and is one of the West End's longest running and most popular shows, currently at home in the Piccadilly Theatre there. The show has been the winner of 55 major awards worldwide. The show is packed with the band's hits, including Beggin’, Sherry, Walk Like A Man, December, 1963 (Oh What a Night), Big Girls Don’t Cry, My Eyes Adored You, Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got), Bye Bye Baby, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Working My Way Back to You, Fallen Angel, Rag Doll and Who Loves You. This is where I'd usually put a video clip or something, but to be honest, Frankie Valli's voice and those songs have always driven me to complete and utter distraction, so I won't. However, if a night watching Jersey Boys sounds like your idea of fun, keep an eye on the Empire's website for details of when tickets go on sale as they'll be announcing that soon.
