What if one mighty rocket could contain all the glamour, glory and disgrace of the Academy Awards, Olympic figure  skating, Club Med and Scientology? That, for an as-yet-unknown reason is the question posed by It's Uniformation Day, fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe, a show described as "somewhere between glittering techno fairy tale and social experiment that welcomes you to the deluxe pilgrimage package tour to space!" It takes place on the occasion of the magnificent 17th Uniformation Ceremony to celebrate the survival of the human race. A group of self-obsessed individuals come together to explore the cult of individualism.

The blurb says: "Flamboyant, menacingly funny and at turns beautifully sad, It's Uniformation Day is a visceral tour through delicate and dangerous sides of human identity."

Liverpool based Fool's Proof Theatre is an international company formed by Ben Phillips (UK), Britt Jurgensen (Germany) and Mary Pearson (USA). Since 2006, they have been producing entertaining and thought provoking original pieces of theatre.

Their influences range from physical theatre, dance, improvisation, puppetry and visual art.Fool’s Proof explores identity through their work, exposing ridiculous, dark, dangerous and vulnerable sides of humanity.

They say: “We look for humanity in our work, however banal, grotesque, dark, ridiculous, nerdy, or vulnerable. Through our work we draw on our own life experiences and philosophical concerns to create unpretentious art with a warm heart, a mad twisted soul and quirky humour.”

Catch It's Uniformation Day at the Unity Theatre this Tuesday and Thursday (October 11 & 12).
