Tmesis to stage Liverpool premiere of new work Wolf Red
It's genuinely exciting to hear that Liverpool's own Tmesis Theatre have announced what will be not only their first one woman show but also their most innovative collaborative work to date - the dark and twisted Wolf Red. Wolf Red premieres at the Unity in September for four nights only, with tickets on sale now.
Combining acclaimed physical theatre company and founders of the city's PhysicalFest Tmesis (Elinor Randle will perform the piece and Yorgos Karamalegos will direct) with new writing from acclaimed North West playwright and creative collaborator Chris Fittock, Wolf Red is a menacing and entertaining piece that explores one woman’s sinister, evocative and playful journey.
Tmesis Theatre’s fifth production follows successful European tours of Tmesis, Memento Mori, and Anima, their trilogy on life’s journey and The Dreadful Hours. A solo show performed with astonishing passion, energy and skillful physicality, Wolf Red promises "a feast for the eyes with stunning visuals", an innovative set from local designer Lois Maskell and lighting by Polish designer Arek Chrusiel . Marrying a fresh original soundtrack with new writing and choreography, Wolf Red is set to be another example of the incredible physical theatre that is unique to Tmesis Theatre. It runs at the Unity from September 26 to 29. For tickets and information, visit the Unity's website. Here's a taste of the piece:
