Liverpool Actors Studio's first Christmas show

This cute little fella is the Gingerbread Man, and he's special because thanks to the Actors Studio's Turn Up the Heat campaign, he will be the star of the venue's first ever Christmas production.

The tiny theatre's fundraising drive was a complete success, and now the Seel Street building has had a new roof fitted along with insulation, as well as having new heaters installed -- well done to all involved. To celebrate, the theatre will be presenting The Gingerbread Man throughout December. Written especially for the theatre by Karen Blick, this seasonal retelling of the children’s classic story brings song, dance and a moral or two, with an upbeat pop sound track and family fun galore. Mrs Muffin loves Christmas but hates being alone. One magical Christmas Eve she finishes her baking, places a spicy seasonal treat in her oven and makes her way to bed. But her fairy God Mother has heard her wishes for company and pays her a visit. With a touch of magic, a slice of mayhem and a recipe no one expected, she brings to life the gingerbread man... The Gingerbread Man will be performed at The Actors Studio, 36 Seel Street, Liverpool from December 4 to 22, with performances at 7.30pm each night and matinees at 2pm on Thursdays and Saturdays.  Tickets are £10. For more information or to buy tickets, visit: www.theliverpoolactorsstudio.com or call the theatre on 0151 709 9034.  In addition, production company English Rice are currently casting for the show.
