The Lantern Theatre is on the hunt for a new owner. The fringe venue was established on Blundell Street in the Baltic Triangle area in 2009, but now family and other business commitments mean current managers Liam and Clare Keating can no longer continue their work there. They're looking for a "new caring owner" to continue its efforts with local artists and community groups. They say: "This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make this place thrive. All applicants will be considered and final decision will be made on longevity, experience and financial stability." Interested parties much submit a proposal of ideas and financial offers to the Lantern by Friday July 15 to register an interest in taking over. The Lantern Theatre seats 85 and is fully equipped with lighting, sound and staging rostra, as well as a fully licenced bar area. The current owners say the fittings, fixtures and equipment have had around £70,000 investment from sister company tiny Giants. For more information phone 0151 703 000 or email managing director clare.keating@gmail.com.
