City-based company Annulled Theatre debuts its comedy production Failure Teaches Success at the Unity from tomorrow (Tuesday, June 28) until Thursday. The play focuses on a group of struggling actors who have formed a theatre in education company that is on the brink of collapse. Howard, the leader of the group, has delusions of grandeur and writes patronising plays for school children. Slowly he becomes undone and succumbs to the things he preaches against in a "darkly hilarious downfall"...

Writer and director Adam Page based his tale on his own experience. He said: “I was eighteen and got a last minute part in a theatre in education show. I was paid fifty quid and had a day to learn the script with no proper rehearsal…... I found the whole thing hilarious in hindsight, so I wrote a play about it."
