Wes Zaharuk's Perfectly Bananas

Wes Zaharuk's Perfectly Bananas

Canadian stand up Wes Zaharuk – whose act has been described as “Twin Peaks meets Cirque de Soleil”- brings his family show Perfectly Bananas to the Lantern this weekend.Known to combine routines with power tools, bananas and film noir, Wes has a world-wide reputation for a tornado-like approach to comedy, surreal feats and an eccentric collection of eye-popping prop tricks. He says: “Show business sometimes lures people who didn't get enough love early in life. I feel as a child I didn't get enough unsupervised time with power tools, but who has perfect parents?”A familiar face on Canadian kids’ TV, Perfectly Bananas was a hit at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, and Zaharuk has built up an American following thanks to a three month residency on the Las Vegas strip.Catch the show on Saturday afternoon (June 1) at 2.30pm. Tickets are £8 (£6 concession), available on the door, via thelanterntheatre.co.uk or by calling 0151 703 0000.
