Period drama films on Falkner Square

A film crew was out and about in and around Falkner Square last night, hence why all of the streetlights around the park were out for a few hours after dark.

Here's some pics of what was going on -- you can just about see from my woeful photography that they'd set up some ornate Victorian style streetlamps outside one of the houses, and were filming a short scene where a character left the house and walked over to the park.

It was a shame it wasn't Kenneth Branagh and co, who are also shooting the new Jack Ryan movie in the city this weekend. The very idea of ol' Wallander himself knocking about round the corner of my house nearly made me faint with excitement, but it was not to be.

Instead it turns out this was a period drama staring Linus Roache (that's him in the top hat below, honest), that will air on ITV on Boxing Day.
