Spice Girl Mel C in Blood Brothers

Last night was the press night for Willy Russell's Blood Brothers at the Empire, starring former Spice Girl and hometown superstar Mel C in the lead role of Mrs Johnson. It wasn't as glitzy an occasion as these sort of happenings usually are, as it seemed there was a variety of gigs and shows on last night that had split reviewers' attentions. Unusually, there was not a Hollyoaker or paparazzi to be seen, although we did clock Brookie alumni Mike Dixon and Jimmy Corkhill in the stalls.
