The next work from the writers of Grin Productions will be 3 Women, a series of monologues by three up-and-coming new playwrights. The Game is the debut play by writer Craig Arnold, directed by Ben Hallworth and starring Donna Lesley-Price (Kick Theatre). A witty, sexually open-minded, middle-aged woman has secretly been working ‘the game’ as a call girl whilst her rich, elderly husband’s physical and mental health slowly deteriorates. Grin founder Simon James also makes his debut as a writer with Perfect, starring Kayla Keatley and described as a monologue that explores the positive resilience of a young woman in the face of a troubled upbringing. Finally, Weave, written and directed by established Grin collaborator John Maguire (Mrs Bojangles, Mexico, Bruise) and starring Jennifer Bea (Beside The Seaside, Endz – No Word of a Lie, Somewhere) is billed as a contemporary urban fairy tale. There will be two performances, the first on Sunday, April 22 at Studio2, Parr Street (7.30pm), and the second at the Casa on Hope Street on Wednesday, April 25 (8pm). Tickets a re£7.50 / £6.00 concessions.
